My Kodak SDHC memory card used to work in both my camera and computer, and all of a sudden, it decided it didn’t want to. It didn’t work in either. I figured out that the SD card was the problem, and the only way to get it to work was to format it. But now I have one empty memory card, eyes full of tears, and no pictures. It was a 4GB memory card that was full. Now the pics are all gone.
I tried using Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery, and I watched it as it recovered all of my photos (I could literally see the images). But after it did that, it kindly told me I needed to pay to finish the process.
I need a free way of doing this.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Recuva is a good one, but it has problems with fragmented files. If Recuva doesn’t work, there are other very good an “no-kidding” freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. The following are all freeware (Digicam and PhotoRec are capable of fragmented file recovery):
Digicam:
PhotoRec:
and here’s a YouTube video of six more freeware options:
and here’s more info on how to use them, and where to get them:

Use Piriform’s Recuva. Your files are there but they are not registered within the file system Writing anything new to that card will erase it and leave you with photo fragments.

i know a professional data recovery software
but it is just free to recover 1GB data
maybe you can recover the most important data firstly.
you can free download from their official page: http://www.powerdatarecovery.com/
good luck.
This tool can help you to recover your files from damaged media.

yes, you are able to get back your photos.
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is asoftech photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=photo+recovery+asoftech
4. Install and open asoftech photo recovery, select your memory drive, and click ‘Start’ button to start scanning process which will find your lost photos.
