I have a video on my Canon HG21 video camera that is corrupt. I can’t detect it on my laptop, so I can’t transfer it. The beginning of the video plays okay on the camera, but when it gets to a certain part it freezes (it’s about 1 and a half hours long). Is there any software I can download to fix this corrupt file? I’ve tried photorec, but it only recovered every other video I deleted and didn’t fix the corrupt one, and Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery, which didn’t recover anything at all from my camera, not even the deleted videos. Please tell me there’s something I can do? This just so happens to be the most important video I had. I don’t even know how it corrupted, everything was working fine until now.
Thanks Calvin, but I can’t detect the video file on my laptop at all, so I can’t convert it. That’s my problem; I need to find a way to fix it without having to open the file (because I can’t), so I can transfer it to my laptop.
